Great Meadows
Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge is 3,850 acres of freshwater wetlands along the Concord and Sudbury Rivers. It is home to Great Blue herons who stand watch, Red Wing Blackbirds who entertain as they fly and fill the airwaves with their song, and countless gorgeous species of flora and fauna. When sauntering its trails I am consistently amazed that I am only twenty-five miles NW of Boston! The provision of sanctuary in this habitat is a weekly, sometimes daily blessing to me!
